Add A Bit Of Tissue

I just loved the boy and girl Pink Paislee release Wild Child. I will buy most anything boy because it seems like we don't get enough in the scrapping world. But I love that there was a girl line that completed the Wild Child collection and knew I would be playing with it. The first thing that immediately stood out was the cloud paper. Now sometimes I struggle with those types of papers because I feel like it should appear sort of cloud like for the LO. So as I was adding things to my page I was like man this is flat.

I have a couple of go to's when I feel like I have a flat LO and my first grab is tissue paper. Yes people don't toss your tissue paper grab a bit and stick it on a LO. It really adds some depth and it can really soften out a LO

With this LO it just seemed a bit flat and not as light as I wanted it to be. So i just scrunched up a piece of complimenting tissue paper and stuck it under my cluster. Not only did it add depth to the page but it also gave the desired affect of softening that I wanted.

I added in some twine to try and connect all the little pieces together because it looked a bit separated without it. I love how it all came together in the end. Tissue paper is really an easy inexpensive item to add to your pages so go ahead and give it a try.

Swag Bag Spotlight

Welcome to the new January Swag Bag Spotlight post.
One of my favorite things ever!  Small buts and pieces of new product in a little bag to sample.

Grab one from the Paper Issues Store.  You can also sign up monthly so you don't miss a month.

I (Mary-Ann Maldonado) used the January Swag Bag for my layout today. Looks like I may have used every single piece from the kit but I didn't!  There is still soooo much more to play with.  I did add a 12x12 paper, flair and my title with stickers.  My boy, smoking a piece of spaghetti.  Cool huh?

Amanda Baldwin played along using leftovers from past bags.  How fab is this mostly June Swag Bag layout, with bits of others thrown in there.  Love the blues.

Using or December Swag Bag is Rachel O'Neal.  It sure looks cold in her next of the woods but her photos match the December bag perfectly!

Wendy played with the November 2017 Swag  Bag by created super cool stitched blocks.

Tada....Last but certainly not least is the January Swag Bag from Stacie.  She used the FREE PI Heart Grid Background cut file to make the hearts.

Head over to our PIFF FB page to play along.  Use any of our Swag Bags to qualify.  Create a never before seen project and upload it on PIFF for a chance to win a prize to the PI Store.

Grab your next bag, or anything from the store for 20% off with Code: Mary-Ann.

Love This Life

Hi PI friends! Rachel here and I can't wait to tell you all about today's layout! I'm using my very favorite collection of the moment - Crate Paper Good Vibes. Just the name makes you smile doesn't it?! I love the colors (hello PINK) and so many of the fun patterns. And the ephemera pack does not disappoint!

For my design, I wanted to start with the first word of the title and then alternate sides and fill in the gaps with my photos and ephemera! For my large title, I used the Thick Paint Alpha cut file from the Paper Issues store. The Paper Issues cut files are so amazing and FREE! Hardly a layout goes by that I'm not using one. Check them all out here! These cut files are designed for the Silhouette machine, but can easily be converted for use with a Cricut. Check out this tutorial if you need help!

After my title, I added 2 photos with lots of layers, some chipboard stickers, and then finished off with some journaling strips I typed up. It turned out just as I had envisioned! Don't you love when that happens?!  Hope you love it! I'll be back next week with another Good Vibes layout for you! Thank you for stopping by today!

Need some paper goodness?! January's Swag Bag is in the store and it's so awesome! Every time I open one I am amazed at how much is inside. Take a look! Save 20% with the code RACHEL. XOXO

Scrap Lift Sunday: 1/14/2018

Kelly designed this festive falala layout that is inspiring today's Scrap Lift Sunday layouts below. Pull out some papers and your scissors and glue with us today!

Becky used the Bohemian Dream collection from Cocoa Vanilla for her take on Kelly's layout. She is trying to summon those warmer, summer months with this sunshiny, bright layout!

Damaris used the Sweater Weather line from American Crafts for this awesome lift! She used the "Stitching Snowflake" and the "Lowercase Open Alpha" FREE cut file from the Paper Issues shop. Her title work is absolutely adorable.

Rachel documented this cute photo of her and her husband using Crate Paper's Good Vibes line. She also used a FREE cut file from the Paper Issues Shop, Floral Sweetheart, how apropos!

Wendy document her sweet pup being sweet using some Simple Stories from her stash! Dog layouts are the best, no?

Mary Ann scrapped these adorable photos of her girl playing on this fun carriage at the park! What a fun memory documented with the Turn the Page collection designed by Paige Taylor Evans for Pink Paislee.

Devra used Crate Paper's Good Vibes and Oasis collections as well as the "Puffy Solid Alphs" FREE cut file from the Paper Issues shop on this "punny" layout!

Elodie used the Lovely Day and Saturday collections designed by Dear Lizzy for American Crafts on this adorable layout. She also got feisty with the fussy cutting - look closely!

And final, Kelly lifted herself using the Creekside collection from 1 Canoe 2. She too broke out her scissors for some fussing cutting - all of those white roses are from the Midnight Roses patterned paper.

Notable Quotable

Hey everyone, it's time for a new quote challenge.  I went with a more neutral one this month, just to make it a little harder!  Take inspiration however you want.

Here's mine.  I used the whole quote.  The photos are from my daughter going to a hockey camp with gold medal olympians!  I used a mix of Dear Lizzy products and the Heart Background cut file.

Lisa used the new Echo Park Fashionista collection and made this pretty pink LO.

Rachel used Crate Paper Good Vibes.  I love the design and layers!

Wendy used Carta Bella Welcome Home.  I love all the little strips for the journaling.

Kelly made this pretty patriotic LO!  I love those stars!

Devra made this beauty with the Turn the Page collection from Pink Paislee!  It's so beautiful!

Happy Friday! It's time to spotlight some of the projects you've created for our January issue, We're Off to a Fresh Start. We love featuring your projects so be sure to share them in the New Issue album in our {Friends & Fans} Facebook group.

1. Fleur created these fun and colorful pages in her One Little Word book. How cute are those pom pom frames?

2. Heather's designs are always amazing and this page is no exception. So many beautiful details and the layering is spot on.

3. Kim's page has a great tropical feel! That's because she documented a bucket list item — to visit Hawaii again.

4. Chelsea hasn't scrapped in a while but she got back into the game with this beautiful page! Don't you love the awesome grid design?

5. Raechelle created an awesome page about her 2018 crafting goals. Isn't that a great idea? She also used some of the FREE cut files available in the shop. Be sure to check them out!

Scrap Soup - January 2018!

We have a new Scrap Soup Challenge for you today!  Remember you must use everything in the soup recipe, but can add more to make it your own!

Here's my layout, using 3 stickers as my "3 of the same types of embellishments". I also used the wagon wheel from the Howdy, Cowboy cut file that is available for FREE in the Paper Issues store!

Wendy's layout has lots of bits and pieces from Crate Paper's FaLaLa collection. I love the old family photos and the mix of pastels and brights together.

Photo Play's Boys Rule collection is front and center on this fun layout from Kelly! I like how she split her layout diagonally for the half patterned paper part of the challenge! So eye catching!

Lisa shares a trip to the aquarium. She is always so good at coming up with the catchiest titles for her layouts, and here's proof!

Up next is Damaris with this cute, cute, cute birthday layout made with the Pebbles Happy Hooray collection. She uses die cuts as her 3 same type embellishments. I love how she added "fourth" above the banner!

And finally, from Stacie, this beautiful layout using her very own Floral Sweetheart cut file. Did you know Stacie makes all of the Paper Issues FREE cut files?? Yes she does!! Check them all out here in the Paper Issues store!
